Products that you buy involve unintentional and incidental harm to humans as well. For example, humans are harmed and sometimes killed as a result of accidents that occur in the manufacturing process for those products. But that does not mean that we cannot draw a sharp distinction between unintended injury of humans and the deliberate murder of humans. Similarly, the fact that wild animals are unintentionally or incidentally injured as part of the process of producing crops does not mean that that there is no distinction between plant foods and animal foods.
