It actually is a fantastic way of getting them interested, Millie. I starting making this sort of argument back in 2007 in connection with Michael Vick. I wrote an editorial in the Philadelphia Inquirer entitled, “We’re All Michael Vick.” It really created a controversy and I got a very positive reaction from many people. I have since used this technique many, many times and I find that it helps many people to think more clearly about the matter of animal ethics. I do accept, however, that there are people who are extremely narcissistic and cannot abide being asked to think in this sort of way.
